		  Indian Boarding School</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_"><p>Carolyn J. Marr is a former librarian at the Museum of History and
		  Industry in Seattle, Washington. She is an anthropologist and is known in the
		  Pacific Northwest as an authority on local history, Native American culture,
		  and historic photographs. She has worked with the Chehalis, Suquamish, Tulalip
		  and Makah Tribes on projects involving photographs, oral history and material
		  culture, especially basketry and textiles. Several exhibits have resulted from
		  her work, including “Between Two Worlds: Experiences at the Tulalip Indian
		  Boarding School (1905-1932).” Marr developed her thesis based on the fieldwork
		  present in this collection, titled “A History of Salish Weaving: The Effects of
		  Culture Change on a Textile Tradition” at the University of Denver in 1979.
