Photos, documents, negatives, contact sheets, pamphlets, game programs, and other information regarding the history of the construction of the P1FCU Kibbie Dome that were previously kept in Athletics archives.
During the processing stage archivists reorganized some materials in order to allow easier integration into a single system of arrangement. Original order retained when appropriate.
The P1FCU Kibbie Dome serves as a multipurpose athletics facility for the University of Idaho. Following the destruction of Neale Stadium by fire in 1969, the University of Idaho began the construction of a new stadium, named Idaho Stadium, in 1971. A few years later came the installation of the roof that turned the open-air stadium into a "dome"; construction began in 1974, and the new building was dedicated in October 1975, named for sponsor William H. Kibbie. The P1FCU Kibbie Dome, until 2023 named the Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center, has undergone a number of additions and renovations since its dedication.
Collection is open for research.
The materials in this collection were transferred by the Department of Athletics in 2025.
