The collection consists of 73 folders photographs of eastern Washington state
geographic and agricultural features, primarily taken in the 1950s. The provenance
of the photographs is unknown, but based on notes on their backs it appears a number
of them were used in a magazine or newsletter of some sort. A significant number of
the images were taken by Theo H. Scheffer, of the U.S. Department of the Interior
(Fish and Wildlife). Combining those facts with the knowledge that Mr. Scheffer was
in Puyallup at the time, we speculate that these images were collected by someone at
the WSU-affiliated Puyallup Experiment Station.

The geographic items are ordered alphabetically in a series at the start (folders
1-45), followed by primarily agricultural photographs which appear to be unordered
(folders 46-66). Folders 67-73 are negatives only, lacking prints, and appear to be
unordered. The collection contains a mix of both photographs (about 175) and
negatives ( about 50). Almost all items are labeled, but very few are dated.
