         <p>Pencil sketch of Camp Watson, Oregon, dated 1865. The drawing depicts log buildings and trees at the base of a hill, with figures walking among the buildings and gathered around a stagecoach. The First Oregon Volunteer Cavalry Regiment maintained Camp Watson from 1864 to 1869, during the conflict with members of the Bannock, Shoshoni, and Paiute peoples known as the Snake War.</p>
