The collection consists primarily of papers concerned with membership, scholarships, and initiation ceremonies of the organization.</abstract>

  		<p>The "Tall Indians of the Mighty Palouse" was a social group organized by and for public school music teachers in 1958 out of the WSU High School Summer Camp program. The group quickly grew to include WSU music faculty, and in 1963 began awarding "Tall Indian Scholarships" to junior undergraduates. The group dissolved in 1980.</p>
