               <p>Scrapbooks were compiled as birthday presents by his daughter, to whom he sent miscellaneous items. They include various memoranda by Schweppe and John Rupp recalling past incidents.</p>

               <p>The Oppenheimer file contains letters, 1955, to Schweppe from UW faculty, Seattle citizens, and others mainly supporting his public endorsement of UW President Henry Schmitz's refusal to invite J. Robert Oppenheimer to speak at the University. The Boldt file contains material collected and generated by Schweppe about the Indian fishing rights case. Schweppe disagreed with Judge Boldt's decision and with the reasoning which sustained it.</p>

The letter, to Seattle Rabbi Raphael Levine, expresses Schweppe's religious beliefs.</p>
