				as an immigrant in the late 1920s, also his experiences in a mixed marriage.

                     <emph render="underline">Scope and Content:</emph>
                  </emph> Tape recorded interview of Mr. and Mrs. Mendoza (early Seattle
				Filipino couple) conducted by L. Buyagawan on 25 June 1975.</p>
               <p>The couple recall their immigration to the U.S. and settlement in
				Seattle. Mr. Mendoza arrived alone in 1927. The Mendozas were married in 1935.
				Mrs. Mendoza was a registered nurse when she arrived and settled in Montana but
				could not be licensed in Montana. They moved to Seattle in 1942, and Mr.
				Mendoza got a War Department job. Thereafter he worked for the federal
				government until 1959.</p>
