Long-running children's theatre company in Seattle, Washington. In 1939, the Seattle Junior League, which had been touring an annual play to the public schools for years, joined with two Seattle women to form Seattle Junior Programs, Inc. It continued to operate under various names between 1939-1984. By the end of the 1970s the name had been changed to Seattle Junior Theatre. In 1984, it merged with the Young ACT Company, a division of A Contemporary Theatre (ACT).

Photographs of and artwork for productions include Abe Lincoln: River Boy; Alice in Wonderland; Are There Alligators in the Sewers of the City of New York?; The Book of Job; A Christmas Carol; The Doctor in Spite of Himself; The Emperor's New Clothes; A Frog King's Daughter is Nothing to Sneeze At; Globolinks; Hansel and Gretel; In One Basket; Jack and the Beanstalk; Jamey and the Whistling Grandmother; Legend of the Potlach and Other Pieces; The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; The Lion Who Wouldn't; Little Red Shoes; Marco Polo; A Midsummer Night's Dream; My Friend the Fox; Peter Pan; The Pied Piper of Hamelin; Pippi Longstocking; The Puppet Prince; Puss 'n Boots; Rasmus and the Vagabond; Robin Hood; Sam Stiller, Private Eye; The Secret Garden; The Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew; Tinder Box; The Tingalary Bird; The Wizard of Oz; Young Ben; and Young King Arthur. Also includes 6 reels of 16mm color, silent film of Seattle Junior Theatre productions, behind the scenes, and other topics, and a typed account of the first ten years of the program.

Open to all users, however no user access copy is currently available for 16mm film. Users may obtain a reproduction of the media for a fee by contacting Special Collections.

Status of creator's copyrights is unknown for materials in boxes 1-8; restrictions may exist on copying, quotation, or publication. Users are responsible for researching copyright status before use. Creator's copyrights transferred to the University of Washington Libraries Special Collections for materials in box 9 and vertical file.
