         <abstract encodinganalog="5203_$a">Photographs of a
		  train wreck in Keechelus, Washington which killed five people in
		  1912.</abstract>
      </did>
      <odd type="hist">
         <p>On August 12, 1912, a wreck involving the train the 
		  <emph render="italic"> Olympian </emph> occurred in Keechelus, Washington which
		  killed five people: four crewmen--engineers H. Townsend and Henry Nobel; two
		  firemen, John Stembel and H. Spencer; and a woman passenger, Mrs. Simon Jurich.
		  The train, drawn by two locomotives, was approaching the summit of the Cascade
		  Mountains when the forward engine was derailed on a bridge over a small stream.
		  The pounding of the wheels over the ties broke down the bridge and both
		  engines, the mail car and the baggage car fell into the creek. </p>
