The Russell Lees papers (1994-1999) contain correspondence, reviews, programs, brochures, and news clippings. Russell Lees (b. 1957) is a playwright, and the material in this collection pertains to his play,
Nixon's Nixon
. This one-act play takes place in the White House on the evening before Richard Nixon's resignation. It is a fictional version of a secret meeting between the president and Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger. Lees earned degrees in computer and electrical engineering from Boston and Stanford universities respectively, and he used these skills as a director for interactive CD-ROMs. However, in 1991, he returned to Boston University to pursue play writing. He studied with poet Derek Walcott and earned a master's degree.
