The company farmed 1200 acres at this location until its collapse in 1927. The town of Orenco, founded in 1908, derived its name from the company's. Collection includes correspondence; demonstration planting records, especially regarding the Perfection Apricot; financial records; and an Orenco Mercantile Co. ledger. English

Organized in Salem in 1867, the Oregon Nursery Company moved to a location 10 miles west of Portland in 1906 under company president Malcolm McDonald. The town of Orenco, founded in 1908, derived its name from the company's. Before its collapse in 1927, the nursery farmed 1200 acres at this Washington County location.
