      <abstract encodinganalog="5203_">The Rick Page independent film collection (1998-2003) consists of copies of films written and directed by Page and filmed by Page and other crew members of the television program <title render="italic">Touched by an Angel</title> during their spare time. These films, like the television program, were shot in and around Salt Lake City, Utah. A local independent filmmaker, Rick Page has also worked as a cameraman for numerous television shows and movies filmed in Salt Lake City. This collection is part of the Utah Independent Film Archive (UIFA).</abstract>

      <p>Rick Page is a local Salt Lake City filmmaker. In addition to writing and directing his own short films, Page has worked as a cameraman on numerous television shows and movies filmed in the Salt Lake City area, including <title render="italic">Touched by an Angel</title>, <title render="italic">Legally Blonde 2</title> (Charles Herman-Wurmfeld 2003), <title render="italic">High School Musical 3</title> (Kenny Ortega 2008) and over 50 others.</p>

          <p>This DVD contains two short narrative films, some publicity clips from local Salt Lake City television news broadcasts about the production of the shorts, Page's resume, a brief biographical video about Page (originally submitted to HBO's Project Greenlight contest), and a "director's reel" or montage of clips from Page's professional directing work:</p>
          <p> 1. "Water With Food Coloring"</p>
          <p> Originally shot on 35mm film, this short piece was filmed in Salt Lake City by the crew of <title render="italic">Touched by an Angel</title> on their days off. Directed by Page, this piece is a spoof of the rigamarole of filmmaking. The piece features some of the cast and crew of <title render="italic">Touched by an Angel</title> in supporting roles. 16:00.</p>
          <p> 2. "Alyson's Closet"</p>
          <p> Originally shot on 35mm film, this piece was also produced by members of the crew of <title render="italic">Touched by an Angel</title> during their off hours and features the actor Ossie Davis in a small role. The movie centers around a writer who can't overcome personal demons and break out of his writer's block. The film was shot in and around an apartment at Salt Lake City's Hillcrest Apartments in the Avenues. 30:00.</p>
          <p> 3. Director's reel</p>
          <p> A short promotional piece consisting of clips collected from the above two pieces. This piece is a video resume designed to be sent out to prospective employers. 15:00.</p>
