George Hamilton Cady was born 1906. He joined the U.W. faculty in
1938, and served as chair of the Chemistry Department. Cady was active with the
Advisory Council on College Chemistry; Flourine Chemistry Division Executive
Committee and Inorganic Chemistry Division, American Chemical Society; and
Science Facilities Evaluation Group, National Science Foundation. He retired
from teaching in 1972.
