    <bioghist encodinganalog="545">
      <p>Frank Boyer Salisbury was born in Utah in 1926. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in 1945, and was a representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in German-speaking Switzerland from 1946 to 1949. From 1949-1950 he was a photographer for Boyart Studio. He graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. (1951) and M.A. (1952). He received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology (1955). He was an assistant professor of botany at Pomona College from 1954 to 1955, then assistant professor and professor of plant physiology at Colorado State University from 1955 to 1966. He served as the NSF Postdoctoral Fellow in Tubingen, Germany, and Innsbruck, Austria from 1962 to 1963. He served as a professor and head of the Department of Plant Science at Utah State University from 1966 to 1970. Between 1970 until his retirement in 1997, Salisbury worked in a number of distinguished positions including: Professor of Plant Physiology, Botany, and Distinguished Professor of Agriculture (1987, honor) at Utah State University. He was on the Board of Trustees at the Colorado State University Research Foundation from 1960-1962 and was a technical representative in Plant Physiology for the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (now the Department of Energy) from 1973-1974. He was also a guest professor at the University of Innsbruck, and Lady Davis Fellow, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 1983. He served as Financial Secretary for the Ohio Columbus Mission (LDS Church) from 1997-1999. Frank Salisbury died in 2015, in Logan, Utah.</p>
