Jeffrey R. Saffle was born on November 16, 1949 in Utah. He attended college and medical school in Chicago, graduating in 1976. He returned to Utah to do his residency in surgery with a fellowship in burn care. He joined the faculty in 1982. From 1985 to 2012 he served as director of the Burn-Trauma Intensive Care Unit. He retired in 2013 a Professor-Emeritus

This collection consists of correspondence and material related to the work of Jeffrey Saffle and the Burn/Trauma Center at the University of Utah.
