      <p>A collection of photographs, song books, newspaper clippings, and other items that shed light on the everyday life of a college student living in a University of Idaho fraternity in the late 1940s. The photographs include pictures of friends and family, traditions, and trips, 1946-1948.</p>

    <bioghist encodinganalog="545">
      <p>Earl Eugene Hayes was born August 18, 1923. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in Twin Falls, Idaho, in 1941. After high school he was a fighter pilot in WWII for three years. After the war was over, he went to the University of Idaho, where he graduated in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After college he married Alice Taylor before returning to military service in the Korean war. He and Alice had two daughters, and he founded and managed his own company (Hayes Calculator). He passed on November 5, 2014.</p>
