Reece Andersen (b. 1911) describes life in the Mt. Pleasant area, including sheep ranching, farming, the Wasatch Academy, Prohibition, travel, revival meetings, and recreation for young people. (27 pages) Halbert S. Greaves (b. 1907) describes growing up as the son of a farmer and public school principal in Ephraim, Utah. Topics include raising turkeys, Roosevelt WPA agencies, Prohibition, local entertainment, celebrations, education in the Depression, epidemics, and nicknames. (27 pages) Christian Jensen recalls his childhood in Ephraim and talks about Prohibition, lack of jobs for young people, entertainment, revivals, Danish people and the Word of Wisdom, "advertising curtains," names and nicknames, jokes and stories. (25 pages) Ferdinand E. Peterson describes life after World War I and talks about farming, quarrying limestone for the Manti temple, transportation, entertainment, attitudes about coffee-drinking, Prohibition, Scandanavian names, newspapers, education, housing, water, and Senator Reed Smoot. (26 pages) Ralph D. Thomson (b. 1906) describes his Danish background, Danish converts, and life in rural Sanpete County. Other topics include sheep and sheepdogs, farm prices, working in a cannery, the homogenous population of the county, Prohibition, newspapers, Senator Reed Smoot, food, and travel. (22 pages)
