When it comes to Fairy Tales and Folklore, originally, they are stories created by authors
such as author Charels Perrault and the Grimm Brothers with lessons and warnings. As
the story evolves over time different messages and events have been incorporated within
the story, however the underlying moral remains the same. Dr. Brenda Bryant – Zinskey
took interest in the many versions and ways that Fairy Tales are told. She already had a
passion for teaching children early in her career, and as she grew in her educational and
academic career, so did the collection.

There are about 79 items within this collection, including books, audio tapes,
trinkets, toys, puzzles, and games. This majority of this collection originated from Dr. Brenda Branyan
Bryant – Zinskey, a teacher for over thirty years including as faculty member of Utah State University Instructional Technology Department.
For Early Childhood Educators, this collection offers valuable insights to child
development, curriculum design, and cultural sensitivity. For Folklore Scholars this
collection will be invaluable for tracing narrative evolution, analyzing cultural
significance, and informing theoretical frameworks. Lastly, this collection provides
research value for Artists and Art Historians. For them it offers inspiration for creative work, provides understanding of artistic interpretations, and would allow them to be able
to contextualize art within culture.
