      <head>Historical Note</head>
      <p>The Moose Creek Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest maintains two historic ranger stations: the Moose Creek Ranger Station and the Fenn Ranger Station (District headquarters) built in 1922 and 1939, respectively. The files were collected in 2008 at the original Moose Creek Ranger Station located on Moose Creek, inside the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area. </p>

      <p>The historical files of the Moose Creek Ranger District span approximately the years 1893 to 1995. 
Included in the records are reports, field notes, memorandums, news clippings, photographs, correspondence, and maps.</p>

      <p>The original subject arrangement of the Moose Creek Ranger District files was maintained. A rough description of the content of these historical files is provided in the inventory of the boxes, based on the original titles of the folders. Note that this description is neither exhaustive nor exclusive. There might exist other subjects and projects inside each box as well as more of the same in different boxes.</p>
