Materials related to the programs of the Seattle Midwifery School
The Seattle Midwifery School (SMS) was founded in 1978 by Suzy Myers, Marge Mansfield, Susie Rivard, and Susan Anenome who then worked at the Fremont Women’s Clinic. They founded SMS to provide direct-entry midwifery education.
In 2009 the Seattle Midwifery School merged with Bastyr University. Its work continues at Bastyr in the Department of Midwifery and Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations.
Annual reports, curriculum materials, meeting minutes, correspondence, publications, photographs, and related materials from the Seattle Midwifery School's programs. The two programs included the Midwifery Educational Program (MEP) and the Education Extension Program (EEP) which was also known as the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations.
Open to all users.
