         <p>The archivist arranged materials in this collection.</p>
         <p>Three map drawers house the collection. The first two drawers hold maps from various
            locations in Oregon. The third drawer contains maps from California.</p>
      </arrangement>
      <bioghist encodinganalog="545">

         <p>George Strowan Duggar Of Medford, Oregon earned a Ph.D. in Public Administration from
            Harvard. Dr. Duggar's research included urban geography and urban renewal planning. His
            research also involved forecasting housing demands. During his career, Dr. Duggar worked
            with the New York and San Francisco Planning Departments. He taught at numerous
            universities and was a published author.</p>

      <scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_">

         <p>The collection holds 127 different maps from locations all over Oregon and California,
            with a focus on Josephine and Jackson counties of Southern Oregon. Maps range from city
            maps to maps of national forests located in the Rogue Valley area. The types of maps
            include topographical, quadrangle, or both. Dated maps range from 1863 - 2001, others
            lack a date.</p>
