      <physdesc>The scrapbook is in fine condition, images are glued onto the pages, and pages have been interleaved.  Videcassettes are in good condition and the memorial photograph book is in good condition.</physdesc>
      <abstract encodinganalog="5203_">Daniel H. Labby, a private practice physician from Portland, OR, assembled the scrapbook in 1939 during his graduating year at the University of Oregon Medical School.  The scrapbook contains images of the campus, faculty and his fellow students.  Videocassettes (2) from the Class of 1939 50th Reunion and a memorial photogasph album (assembled by Labby) are included in the collection.  Labby was also Professor of Medicine at the University of Oregon Medical School from 1958 through 1971 and has served as a professor of psychiatry and medicine at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center/Oregon Health Sciences University from 1972 to the present.</abstract>

    <bioghist encodinganalog="5450_">
      <p>Daniel H. Labby, born in 1914 in Portland, Oregon, graduated from Reed College with a BA in 1935.  He received an MD in 1939 from the University of Oregon Medical School.  He was in private practice in Portland from1947 to 1951. Labby was Professor of Medicine at the University of Oregon Medical School from 1958 through 1971 and has served as a professor of psychiatry and medicine at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center/Oregon Health Sciences University from 1972 to the present.  Dr. Labby received various awards including the Noble Wiley Jones Fellow in Pathology for 1937-38 from the University of Oregon Medical School.  He was a member of numerous committees, in community service groups, and medical societies and served as a visiting professor and guest speaker.  He founded the Senior Clinicians Conferences at Oregon Health Sciences University and the Center For Ethics In Health Care.</p>
