Dustin "Dusty" Sackett began working as a ski patroller at Snowbird in 1977. He also was a Salt Lake City area presenter of the "Know Before You Go" program started by Craig Gordon of Forest Service Utah Avalanche Center in response to a fatal December 26, 2003 avalanche near Aspen Grove.
