         <p>John Arthur Gellatly was a Republican politician born in Grass Valley, California on July 6, 1869. Gellatly moved to Wenatchee, Washington in 1900 where he served in several public offices including County Auditor, City Councilman, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Mayor. Gellatly was elected and served as Lieutenant Governor of Washington for one term (1929-1933) and ran for Governor of Washington in 1932, ultimately losing to Clarence D. Martin. Gellatly died in Wenatchee, Washington on July 18, 1963.</p>
