This photograph collection, taken by Mary Jane Russell beginning in August 1921, is a chronicle of the Harry T. Sanger party's vacation tour beginning in Detroit, Michigan and moving through the Western United States. These pictures cover Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. Folders One through Four house photographs of Colorado destinations such as Lookout Mountain, Colorado Springs, and Pike's Peak. Folders Five through Twelve contain breathtaking photography of Yellowstone Park during its beginning stages. Famous sites such as the attractions in and around Mammoth Hot Springs, Old Faithful, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone are illustrated. The original album has been disbound, with individual pages placed in numbered folders. Each page bears handwritten identification notations by Russell.
