  	<head>Biography of L.H. Klahn Jr.</head>
<p>Leslie Herman (L.H.) Klahn Jr. served in the Vietnam War. After his service, he studied at the University of Wyoming. During the war, Leslie sent letters home to his parents, as well as to his wife and other family members. He sent postcards and photographs along with his letters when he could, mostly from his time in Hawaii. He served from 1961 until 1968, and by 1971 had moved to Laramie, Wyoming to continue his education. His father, Leslie Herman Klahn Sr., served in the United States Navy in World War II. During his service Klahn Sr. was awarded two Navy Training Course Certificates. He was also promoted to Corporal of the State of Oregon National Guard in 1940. The Klahn family lived in Aurora, Colorado after Leslie Sr. returned from World War II. </p>

<p>The American Heritage Center aspires to approach all areas of our work in ways that are
respectful to those who create, use, and are represented in our collections. For a variety of
reasons, however, users may encounter offensive or harmful language or images in some of our
finding aids, catalogs, and collection materials.</p>

<p>Note that the AHC does not censor or alter contents of the collections as they provide context and evidence of a time, people, place, or event.
Therefore, we encourage users to bring questions and concerns about descriptions in our finding aids to our attention via <extref href="mailto:bblasi@uwyo.edu">email</extref> or <extref href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd7UKY6227Uluu6mYZv-63VA_hQSNd7kgRhsaLC-UD2NOB9cg/viewform">anonymous web-form</extref>.
