			<p>John McCreary Fabian (1939-) was raised in Pullman, WA, and graduated from Pullman
				High School. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from WSU in 1957, and
				then joined the Air Force. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, and
				entered a NASA training program in 1978. Fabian flew on two space shuttle missions,
				STS-7, Challenger, June 1983; and STS-51G, Discovery, June 1985.</p>

			<p>This is a single personal letter consisting of seven numbered pages, single-sided,
				written by NASA astronaut John Fabian to Washington State University News Bureau
				Manager Richard ‘Dick’ Fry. In the letter, written in 1983 a few weeks or months
				after Fabian flew his first shuttle mission, STS-7, on the Challenger, Fabian
				details some of his personal observations about his space flight.</p>

			<p>Copyright restrictions apply. Dick Fry described this as a personal letter from
				Fabian to him, not part of any university work, and so copyright remains with John
				Fabian. </p>
			<p>Additionally, Fabian includes a small “don’t print this” note to Dick Fry regarding
				one sentence; though this mention appears relatively minor and inconsequential,
				users will not be allowed to reference that without Fabian’s permission.</p>
