The majority of this collection contains photographs of the Nisbet family in formal Scottish dress. Two of the photographs are group portraits, while the rest are snapshots. The photographs date circa 1900-1930s. Most of the photographs are in poor condition and are not labeled.

William Nisbet was born in Claythorne, Renfrewshire, Scotland, and emigrated to America in 1890. He joined the LDS Church the next year and served his first mission in 1898. Later in life, he became Salt Lake County deputy sheriff and then the chief gardener at the Utah State Capitol.
