Vergil D. Reed was an economist and business executive. He was with the U.S. Bureau of the Census from 1935-1942, the War Production Board from 1942-1943 and the J. Walter Thompson advertising firm from 1944-1958. He taught marketing at several universities including Michigan State, Boston, Columbia, and American.
Collection contains correspondence (1936-1965); manuscripts; notes and notebooks; speeches; biographical information; books on world markets prepared under Reed's direction for the J. Walter Thompson firm; reports; scrapbooks; photographs; and miscellaneous other materials.
