Below the image is the text, in French: "Vue du Port des Français, Sur La Côte Du N. O. De L'Amérique / Voyage de La Pérouse, autour du monde" (view of French port on the Northwest Coast of America, voyage of La Pérouse, around the world), referring to the travels of Jean François de Galaup, Count of La Pérouse. Based on printer information at the bottom of the lithograph, it was likely printed sometime between 1821 and 1840.</p>
