The Pride Center serves as Oregon State University’s resource center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and more (LGBTQ+) members of the OSU community and their allies. In addition to its roles in outreach, education, and advocacy, the Center provides a safe space for anyone in the community to “explore aspects of sexual orientation and gender identity in an open and non-judgmental atmosphere.” The Queer Resource Center (QRC) was founded in 2001 and was initially housed in Benton Annex with the Hattie Redmond Women & Gender Center. In 2004, the Queer Resource Center moved to a permanent location on the south edge of campus at 1553 SW “A” Avenue. In that same year, following much community debate, the QRC was re-named the OSU Pride Center. The Pride Center works closely with the OSU Rainbow Continuum, Sol: LGBTQ+ Student of Color Support Network, and the ASOSU Queer Student Advocacy Coordinator. The Pride Center building underwent further renovations from 2022-2024 to update and expand the building. Previously, the Pride Center was administered by the Office of Intercultural Student Services of the Division of Student Affairs, and as of 2026, is administered by Diversity and Cultural Engagement.
These materials were transferred from the Pride Center in various accessions, 2008-2025. The scrapbooks were scanned and made accessible online in 2016.

The Pride Center Records document the education, research, and advocacy the cultural center performed at Oregon State University. This collection includes materials created by the Pride Center and its community, consisting of educational materials, advertisements, newsletters and newspaper clippings, photographs, meeting minutes, manuals, event programs, and more. These records provide information on the identities, experiences, and social perceptions of LGBTQ+ activity on campus, with a focus on outreach such as programming and education, as well as social events like dances, special speakers, drag pageants, and movie nights. Administrative materials like financial documents, correspondences, and office records are present, as well as architctural materials from the renovations of the Pride Center building. The collection materials contain documentation covering the entire process of establishing the Pride Center, from requests and justification for its need, community support and advocacy, to building plans and inspection documents, up to the final grand opening event. Part of the justification includes several CAS (Council for the Advancement of Standards) surveys conducted by students, the results of which supported the establishment of the Pride Center. This series includes physical and digital materials documenting the administrative work done by and for the Pride Center. Materials include advisory board records, information regarding the construction and renovation of the Pride Center building via the self-assessment materials, certificates and awards given to the Pride Center, and training materials. Also included are calendar pages, office visitor logs, financial records, resources about and the responses to hate crimes, models for program development, center decor, informational pamphlets, reading lists and library materials, documents relating to the appointing of various positions, self-assessments, and staff manuals. Note: Though the Pride Center’s fiscal year begins in July and ends in June, the financial records -- which include receipts, projected and reported budgets, and purchase requests -- are organized by calendar year. This series contains 454 files (2.45 GB) of digital content.

Materials include Bias Response Team documents, reports of hate crimes at OSU, educational materials, and resource guides.
This folder contains materials from the self assessments conducted by the Pride Center based on CAS (Council for the Advancement of Standards) guidelines. The "Architectural Materials" series also includes documentation of a self assessment that the Pride Center conducted in 2000. The failure of this assessment was used to prove a need for the Pride Center to exist on campus and helped to justify the allocation of the Pride Center building. Additional self-assessment documents can be found in Series Three, Box-Folder 4.01.
This series contains physical and digital materials related to and from outreach performed by the Pride Center that involved engagement between the center, the community, and other organizations. Materials include event programming documents for singular events as well as recurring events, advertisements, guest books, photographs, newsletters and newspaper clippings, yearly program binders, films, educational materials, and more. Also included are videos of Lavender Graduation, photos of staff and events, films, and photography projects. This series contains 1947 files (20.8 GB) of digital content.
Guest Books are books that engaged visitors by encouraging them to answer various questions through writing, and were often placed in the Pride Center’s bathroom. This method of engagement allowed for a degree of privacy and anonymity within one’s writing, frequently leading to very intimate and heartfelt responses.

This series contains physical documentation related to the process of the Pride Center Building's construction. Initial documents like proposal plans and administrative communications are included, as well as blue prints used during the construction process and records of various safety tests performed on the building. There are also event planning materials for the grand opening of the Center and plans for the Pride Center garden, which was implemented after the building's completion.
