Scope and Content: Texts in Tzotzil-Maya language, with Spanish translations; microfiche; 1989-1998. Texts were written as letters from Xalik Guzman, a laborer and translator living in the cities of San Cristobal and Tuxta Gutierrez in Chiapas, Mexico. Guzman describes daily life of Chiapas's urban Maya people, reactions to the Zapatista uprising, and myths and reminiscences.

Includes translation notes prepared by Rus and his wife Diane in collaboration with Guzman. Also includes a photograph of Guzman and a chapter from John Womack, ed., "Rebellion in Chiapas," 2000.
