		<p>In 1908, the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd opened a home in Wallingford for orphaned
		  girls and troubled girls. For over 65 years, the Home of the Good Shepherd provided young women with shelter,
		  counseling, and job training. The home closed in 1973. The buildings are now called Good Shepherd Center and are used
		  by many community groups.</p>

		<p>The collection consists of 16 interviews with former staff and residents of the Home of the Good Shepherd:
		  Charmaine Ashcraft, Sr. Valerie Brannan, Betty Ferguson, Sr. Elsie Fields, Sr. Mary Ann Fitzgerald and Sr. Mary Ruth
		  Kuper, Sr. Virginia Hinks, Sr. Mariella Houle, Jackie (Moen) Kalani, Betty Mayes, Sr. Mary William McGlone, Rev. Norman
		  McLean, Sr. Mary Thomas Nestor, Sr. Michael Pundzak, Vivian Sherburne, Doug Woodside, and Chuck Boyle. All of the
		  interviews were conducted by Toby Harris in 1999 and 2000. </p> 
		<p> Note that several of these interviews deal with issues of physical and sexual abuse and may be upsetting,
		  particularly to survivors of past abuse. </p>
