      <abstract encodinganalog="5203_">The <extref type="simple" show="new" href="https://collections.lib.utah.edu/search?q=P0367" actuate="onrequest" role="text/html">City/County Building Time Capsule photograph collection</extref> contains photographs, placed in time capsule in 1892 and removed in 1989, includes portraits of the architects of the building, Masons, etc., and views of the city from Prospect Hill and from the Temple.</abstract>

      <p>The photographs in this collection were contained in the time capsule placed in the cornerstone of the City/County Building in the dedication ceremony of 1892. The time capsule was placed by Masons. In 1989, a re-dedication ceremony was held for the newly restored building, at which time the time capsule was opened and a new one put in its place. The materials contained in the original were placed in the Marriott Library at the behest of Mayor Palmer Depaulis.</p>
      <p> Most of the images are in excellent condition, although some of the portraits appear to show evidence of "bronzing," the migration of some of the mount metal onto the image.</p>
