         <p>Labor organization official.</p>
         <p>Elmer Roy Sykora, born 25 February 1903 in Scott County, Minnesota to
		  William and Mary Sykora. He served in the US Navy and was stationed in
		  Portsmouth, Virginia in 1920. He moved to Seattle in the late 1920s where he
		  met and married his third wife, Bernice Irene Loomis, a Seattle native. She was
		  active in the Democratic Party and helped write state legislation in favor of
		  the protection of children’s rights. She served as the vice president of
		  the 45th District Democratic Precinct Committeeman’s Organization and
		  was a trustee for the Lumber Production &amp; Industrial Workers Union. Elmer
		  Sykora was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 31, Jordan, Minnesota for
		  over 50 years and was a former official and business agent for the Lumber &amp;
		  Sawmill Workers Union, Local 2519 of Seattle, Washington. Mr. Sykora passed
		  away 28 April 1979. </p>
