Information provided by the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences explains that the College of Agriculture Experiment Station was established in 1892 as the research function of the College …and has the responsibility to conduct applied and basic investigations to problem solving and new knowledge for agricultural industries, rural communities, and family living. The counterpoint to this program is the Idaho Cooperative Extension that has district offices in Moscow, Coeur d'Alene, Boise, Twin Falls, and Idaho Falls. Extension specialists are located in Parma, Idaho Falls, Caldwell, Soda Springs, Kimberly, Sandpoint, and Aberdeen. Early stations once existed in Jerome, Tetonia, Gooding, and Grangeville. The Experiment Stations have been the research arm of the College of Agriculture for over one hundred years. Land use development, seed certification, wheat production, farm management, and the animal industry are topics addressed in this manuscript group.
