		  to personal and family history, agricultural history in the midwest and western
		  states, agricultural practices, technology and education, and Washington State
		  University. Miss Ella E. Clark assisted in editing the manuscripts.</abstract>

      <p>The papers consist of holographs and manuscript copies of Mr.
		  Hegnauer's writings, principally his unpublished autobiography, 
		<title>Eighty-six Golden Years</title>, which he wrote with the
		assistance of Ella Clark, between 1954 and 1958. The autobiography, in addition
		to personal and family history, includes a lengthy discussion of such matters
		as agricultural history in the midwest and western states, agricultural
		practices, technology and education, and the history of Washington State
		University. </p>
