Collection of 13 radio programs from 1976 that coincided with the nationwide celebration of the United States' bicentennial. During the audition process for the national series of concerts that included every state the Idaho Bicentennial Music Committee compiled Idaho music for radio broadcast. The thirteen different programs of the series were broadcast across the state and included jazz, "old time fiddlers," Basque folk music, the music of Idaho composer Arthur Shepherd, and selections from the faculty and students of Idaho universities. One reel contains old and new Idaho songs.

The final live program took place at the Kennedy Center on September 20, 1976 and included music written or conducted by Boise State University's C. Griffith Bratt as well as C. Lamar Barrus, Jr., David Wehr, John Baldwin, William Billingsley, James Henry, Darwin Wolford, and concluded with a performance of
Old Chisolm Trail
by Arthur Shepherd. The Idaho Bicentennial Orchestra and Choir consisted of 60 musicians hailing from 29 different communities in Idaho and was conducted by Floyd Peterson. The orchestra and choir also traveled to four other states.
