      <p>Papers and photographs of Admiral Daniel E. Barbey and his wife
		  Katharine Barbey. Also includes papers of Henry J. Barbey and his wife Ethel
		  Graham Barbey, including deeds and correspondence relating to the Barbey
		  Packing Corporation, Astoria, Or. Materials include: two (2) scrapbooks
		  containing newspaper clippings and ephemera relating to Admiral Barbey's
		  service in the Pacific Theater during World War II, his role in the development
		  of amphibious warfare techniques during that conflict, and his postwar service
		  in China, 1942-1947; two (2) scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings and
		  ephemera relating to Admiral Daniel E. Barbey's service as the Commandant of
		  the Tenth Naval District and Caribbean Sea Frontier, 1947-1950; and one (1)
		  scrapbook containing newspaper clippings relating to Admiral Daniel E. Barbey's
		  retirement and his role as the civil defense chief for the state of Washington,
		  1950-1956.</p>
