Robert Edward Simon, Jr. (1914-2015) was a real estate developer from New York City, New York. He is known as the developer of Reston, Virginia, a city that was founded during the Garden City movement of the 1960s.
Collection contains material concerning the social planning and programs for the new city of Reston, Virginia and for Reston, Virginia Foundation for Community Programs, Inc. Included are newspaper and magazine articles concerning the new community and Simon’s concept of planned communities.
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
