      <p>This collection consists of a commercially-produced record book used to document the
				academic progress of students. The donor, Mary Alice Bauer Wilson, found the record
				book among her mother’s personal papers. Mrs. Wilson’s grandparents, Jasper
				Alexander Litton and Mary Alice Bray Litton, had homesteaded in Lamont, Fremont
				County, Idaho in 1911. In her letter covering the gift of the item to the University
				of Idaho Library, Mrs. Wilson speculated that it had been among her mother’s papers
				because her father (Mrs. Wilson’s grandfather) had served on the district no. 69
				school board. There is nothing on the record book to substantiate this
				speculation.</p>
