John Griffith Edwards was an Oregon sheep breeder, owner of Hay Creek Ranch, and partner in Baldwin Sheep and Land Company. Located in present-day Jefferson County, the company became one of the state's largest producers of wool and purebred sheep. Edwards later became the manager and principal owner. The company ceased operation in 1910, when livestock grazing on public lands was curtailed to prevent overgrazing. The Hay Creek Ranch continued stock-raising operations at the same location under different ownership.
