Stan Bettis (1941- ) is a freelance writer and former editor of the University of Oregon's Old Oregon alumni magazine.

The collection consists of a manuscript of Bettis's book Market Days: An informal history of the Eugene Producer's Public Market. In an introductory letter to "Carl", Bettis describes the manuscript as being a second rough draft of the book, with some corrections and additions.
