Henry Doelle graduated from Washington State College (1912 Mining), and went on to
become managing director and vice president of British Columbia‘s Sheep Creek

Doelle had two daughters. Dorothy ('41 English) was a member of Gamma Alpha Chi, the
Advertising Club, Panhellenic and Spurs. The other daughter, Shirleigh ('41 General
Studies) was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and later was employed by Boeing

The collection consists primarily of photographs and postcards of Washington State
College collected by two generations of the Doelle family, from 1910-1912 (25
images), and from 1937-1941 (about 46 images). It also includes about 15 dance cards
and other ephemeral documents from 1938-1941.

Henry E. Doelle attended WSC in 1909-1912, and was a founding member of Phi Delta
Theta fraternity, and on the wrestling team. The majority of the items in this
timeframe relate to those two activities.

Henry’s daughters, Dorothy and Shirleigh, attended WSC in 1937-1941. Shirleigh was a
member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, and the majority of the items in this era
