Shapiro (1898-1978) was associated with the City Center of Music and Drama in New York City for many years, and was stage manager for over 30 major Broadway productions. He also served as stage manager for American productions at the Brussels World's Fair in 1958 and for Judy Garland's last tour in 1959.
Collection contains correspondence, annotated scripts, cast lists, production notes, photographs, prop lists, posters, rehearsal schedules, playbills, cue sheets, and other materials related to various Broadway and World's Fair productions; staff lists, cue sheets, scripts, charts and other materials related to the 1959 Judy Garland tour; biographical information; and miscellaneous memorabilia.
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
