<p>Georg August Hartlmaier (1932-2008) was a ski racer, mountain climber, and entrepreneur who was instrumental in the development of the Brian Head Resort in Utah. Georg and his wife, Stefanie, moved to Utah from Austria in 1964, where they opened Georg's Ski Shop together in Brian's Head. In addition to owning and running his own ski shop, Hartlmaier was the first Mountain Manager and Ski School Director of Brian's Head. Hartlmaier obtained certification from the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) in 1967 and went on to serve on the PSIA Board of Directors. He received a National Lifetime Membership through PSIA and was inducted into the PSIA Intermountain Division Hall of Fame in 2009.
