		  operated in Spokane from 1905 to 1929, when it was merged with the
		  Ball-Bumgarner-Swanson Funeral Home. The collection contains funeral records
		  from all 24 years of the company's existence.</abstract>

      <head>Historical Note</head>
      <p>John. M. Knight established the New England Undertaking Company in
		  Spokane in 1905. He operated the business in conjuction with a furniture making
		  establishment until his death in 1929, when the undertaking company was mered
		  with the Ball-Bumgarner-Swanson Funeral Home.</p>

      <p>The collection consists of ten volumes of funeral records arranged in
		  chronological order, covering all years of operation. </p>

      <p>Note that box 3 of the collection also contains records from Turnbull
		  Funeral Home Records (Ms 74).</p>
