William Fielding Ogburn (1886-1959) was a sociologist, statistician, and educator. He is known for his theory of social change that placed technology at the forefront of social progress.
Collection contains articles by Ogburn and others on sociology, social research, population, war, and technology and society; booklets that discuss topics including war, divorce, and American civilization; an unpublished book by Ogburn titled Spacing the Urban Population; an unpublished manuscript titled The War State; and miscellaneous material.
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
