The Prosser Experimentation Station (now known as the Prosser Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center or IAREC) was established in 1919 due to a legislative mandate in 1919 to address the agricultural research needs of the Yakima valley and lower Columbia Basin. At least six academic departments at WSU has faculty, staff, and students involved in the IAREC researching things from plant pathology to biological systems engineering.
Contains slides, photos, and negatives related to the Prosser Experimentation Station from 1937-1961. Photos detail faculty, staff, and students working at the Station, as well as some of the plots and crops planted at the station.
This is an unprocessed collection. Any arrangement reflects either a pre-existing order from the records' creators or previous custodians, or preliminary sorting performed by staff.
Items in Box 1 are in no particular order, though some photos are contains in a portfolio and box, others are loose. Box 2 contains negatives. Photos are mostly unlabeled and undated.
