    <bioghist encodinganalog="5451_">
      <p>Myron Samuel Huckle graduated from Washington State College in 1927 with a BS in mechanical engineering. He supported himself while in college and for a few years following as a professional photographer. After leaving Pullman he taught for fifteen years: one year at the thermodynamics laboratory at Harvard University, five years in aeronautics at MIT, and nine as President of the U.S. Engineering School. He spent thirty-three years as Air Reserve officer with five years active duty in World War II. He retired as a Lt. Col. in 1968. He also spent nine years as industrial engineer with the Defense Supply Agency at San Francisco. Myron Huckle passed away in Seattle on July 4, 1982. He and his wife three children, two of whom attended WSU.</p>

      <p>The collection consists of 14 scrapbooks consisting of black and white photographic prints of WSU campus buildings, student activities, athletics, faculty and campus groups. The photographs are somewhat organized by subject.</p>

      <p>The photographs are in their original sequence, which is somewhat organized by subject. Correspondence and biographical infromation from Myron Huckle is in a folder after scrapbook #2 (the folder is labeled 2.5). The folder also contains Sports Information Director's Richard Fry's 1989-2004 identifications of the athletes in the photos in scrapbook 2.</p>

      <p>The Myron S. Huckle photographic scrapbook collection consists of scrapbooks donated by Myron Huckle to the Washington State University Library in September, 1978 (78-37) and from scrapbooks which had been received by the library from other sources prior to 1970.</p>
